(CST):
Updates:
- Gather more statistics at cos theta = 0.5 configuration
- Dedicated "21 MHz" referenced laser runs (Experiment 11)
taken pre-beam
- Important corrections still needed to DST4 data before it
will be fully suitable for off-line analysis.

Updates:
- Moved to cos theta =
0.5 (as shown in Figure above)
- Progress has been made in the processing and all DST2
reprocessed to DST4 for available experiments (2-9): [DST4

- However there are a number of important corrections that
still need to be made to this data before it will be fully
suitable for off-line analysis.
- An update
to Horii-san's previous description has been generated.
- Down to last 3 days of running, with normal shift
operations
- Taking 10k data runs, interspersed with ~2k laser and

cos(theta) range from +0.7 to 0.0.
- Detector will be mounted so that electronics-side is
closer to the control room.
- To get to cos(theta) of -0.3, we need to move the mount
point on the table. Holes are already drilled for this
purpose.
- High voltage stickers should be affixed to the bar box
(and on the outside of the light-tight enclosure) to fulfill
safety requirements.
- Tasks for Tasks for Todd should be compiled and
prepared so they can be completed in the mornings. Only Monday and Tuesday
morning are now available.
Electronics:
- Trying to get cPCI crate on the internet so we can
update software from repository easily.
- Module debugging and calibration:
- Feedback loops appear to be working properly - needs to
be fixed in committed svn version of
beam-test-or-bust.software.
- Hirose-san conducting dead-channel checks.
- Matt checking dead channels. Many cards showing
all dead channels have a short between 3 V (on voltage
regulator for amplifier) and ground.
- Calibration can commence soon... Kurtis to supply
script to check feedbacks.
Tracker:
- Todd has supplied racks for mounting fiber tracker(s).
- Double sided racks, could potentially mount both
trackers on opposite sides.
- Hawaii version:
- Mechanical enclosures for detector-part are ready.
- Electronics to be shipped from Hawaii.
- Current firmware still only reads out 16 channels...
- Nagoya tracker:
- Assembly/testing ongoing.
Other:
- Some agreements have been made about data formats.
Either Kurtis or Horii-san should post this soon.
- Kurtis to provide raw --> ROOT processing scripts once
ready (upload to svn?).
- Run/shift checklists and documentation still being
prepared.
Status
Report
(Thursday
15-DEC-2011 @ 9:30am CST meeting):
Administrative:
- Iijima-san arrives today.
- Gary returns from PNNL Friday.
- Training:
- Most members are now trained.
- A few still scheduled for next Wednesday.
- Meetings now occurring at flexible times, just
after open access ends, from now until we start taking beam.
- ORC inspection has been rescheduled for
Wednesday.
- We must be assembled into our nominal running state by
then.
Quartz bars / mechanical:
- Assembly of bar box into support structure can be
conducted at any time.
- Full bar box/support frame assembly to be put
together tomorrow.
- Support frame will be available again tomorrow morning.
- During inspection, we may be asked what material is
black plastic for light-tighting? Is it flammable?
- Main concern of table location is conflict with the
enclosure wall. Stops can be added, and may be reqiured
for safety reasons. To be coordinated with Todd.
- Tasks for Todd should be compiled and prepared so
they can be completed in the mornings. All necessary tasks for
pre-inspection setup need to be completed by Wednesday
morning, preferrably earlier.
Electronics:
- Custom 4 channel, low V, high I supply - so far so
good.
- One other supply also being shipped from Hawaii, on
en route.
- Other low V power supples picked from PREP by
Suzuki-san.
- Modules powered yesterday.
- Kurtis performing some debugging on fiber command to
enable feedback loops.
- Hirose-san conducting dead-channel checks.
- Calibration will commence after feedback loops are
stable.
Tracker:
- Both trackers will be installed for inspection, so that
we can use whichever is working / working better.
- Hawaii version:
- Coordinateion of motherboard shipment to be conducted
with Xiaowen
- Current firmware only reads out 16 channels at the
moment.
- Nagoya tracker:
- Assembly/testing ongoing.
- Some dark pulses have been observed. Pushing
forward.
Other:
- Some agreements have been made about data formats.
Either Kurtis or Horii-san should post this soon.
- Kurtis to provide raw --> ROOT processing scripts once
ready (upload to svn?).
- Run/shift checklists and documentation still being
prepared.
Status
Report (Wednesday 14-DEC-2011 @ 9:30am CST meeting):
Administrative:
- Lynn arrived last night.
- Matt arrived this morning.
- Training:
- 7 T-1019 members received necessary radworker and
controlled access training yesterday.
- 5 more to receive training today.
- A couple still scheduled for Wednesday next week.
- Late beam start today... still open access as of
(10:30 a.m.)
- Consider flexible schedule for daily meetings preceding
beam time to allow for maximum use of morning open access
time.
- ORC inspection is scheduled for monday. We must be
assembled into our nominal running state by then.
- Kurtis to coordinate with Aria to check on some points
what is/isn't allowed/required.
Quartz bars:
- Quartz bar has moved back to FTBF &
cleaned. Film has been removed and bar box is
ready.
- Assembly of bar box into support structure can be
conducted at any time.
Mechanical:
- Full bar box/support frame assembly to be put
together tomorrow or the following day to allow use of the
bare support frame for further checks until then.
- Support frame was used this morning during
open-access to test some geometrical constraints.
- It looks like there's just enough travel on the
stage (~117 cm) to allow our desired angular range while
keeping the electronics side of the bar closer to the
electronics room. This is being further checked.
- String pots don't look viable for angle
measurement. Will use laser survey instead.
- Heights can be adjusted by 2" bricks or 1/2"
plates. Should be fine for rough scanning of
x-positions.
- Table to be squared/trued tomorrow morning.
- Marc is preparing an up-to-date CAD file of the
proposed setup.
- Tasks for Todd should be compiled and
prepared so they can be completed before the end of Friday.
Electronics:
- Matt brought custom 4 channel, low V, high I
supply.
- One commercial supply also being shipped from
Hawaii, on en route.
- PREP located some low V supplies.
- May not need for front-end modules, but could still be
useful for other purposes (perhaps fiber tracker).
- Suzuki-san to pick them up today.
- Modules to be powered and checked today (this
didn't happen yesterday as previously planned).
- Begin taking calibration data to gauge requirements on
how much we need and whether we should start taking
overnight calibration data to collect enough.
- Debugging of dead channels can hopefully happen in
parallel.
Other:
- Kurtis to provide raw --> ROOT processing scripts once
ready (upload to svn?).
- Run/shift checklists and documentation still being
prepared.
