A short summary of today's meeting: (Julie) Simulated electron and hole collection times. For 50 um thick detector, 100 volts was sufficient to clear out by 2 ns (50 V insufficient). For 75-um thick detector, 100 V is marginal, 200 V ok. Discussion: --Read out electrons instead of holes, to get shortest rise time for possible bunch-slicing measurements. --200 V is safe level, higher gets tricky. Thicker preferred (fewer layers needed). (Chris) Proposed spectrometer using transverse electrodes. Discussion: --Optimum electrode spacing and width depends on spectrum. (John) Inter-pixel smearing due to angular geometrical effects looks to be 1% at most. Not a problem. To do: --Simulate electron collection times for 100 um detector @ 200 V. ( Julie) --Distribute calculated spectrum. (John) --Heat absorption calculations. (John) --Resolution calculations. (John) --Distribute plots of angular spread of beam. (John) --CASINO simulation of scattering inside detector.
