The
Polarized Gamma Observatory (PoGO) -- UH page
PoGO-lite pathfinder experiment consisting of a 61
phoswich
prototype flight to explore using this technique for ~100keV
polarized
gamma observation of interesting astrophysical sources with
predictions
for the polarization of these objects during various episodic
phases. As indicated above, this flight is to take place
from
Esrange (Sweden) in June 2011.

Possible observation targets:
Crab
Cygnus
A successful flight -- in particular demonstration that the
fluence of neutrons at target float altitude do not degrade the
science
mission -- is an essential step toward a full-sized, LDB mission
using
this technology.
