The noise and gain of the Norsat and Chaparrel LNBs were measured using the HP8790A Noise Figure Meter with a HP346C Noise Source with an LO frequency of 5.15 GHz, the lower sideband (special function 2.2) in Measurement Mode 1.4. The Norsat LNBs came in around 40 K and the Charparrels came in around 60K. The LNBs were also measured using the Hot-Cold Noise Source; these results were 40K for the Norsat and 80K for the Chaparrel. The two measurements for the Chaparel differ by 20 K; it is possible that the wider bandwidth of the Chaparrels (seen best in the gain plot) contribute the extra 20 K to the Hot-Cold Noise Source measurement.
