Accommodation/Travel
The workshop starts
on Monday and ends Friday, November
8, around noontime. Participants should plan to arrive at the Keauhou
Beach Resort Sunday afternoon,
November 3. The Resort is about 14 miles from Kailua-Kona
Airport and 8 miles from Kona town. Kona is a small but busy airport
served directly by American Airlines,
Hawaiian Airlines, and United Airlines.
The interisland carriers from Honolulu are Hawaiian and Aloha.
Ground transportation:
Taxis
are available at the airport. Limited car rental at the airport is available and it is advised
reservations be made well in advance. The drive takes about 15 minutes.
Due to the high volume of tourism on the island, it is advisable to book your flights and car
rental as soon as possible.
Airport shuttle service:
SpeediShuttle offers shuttle service to/from the airport. Reservations
should be made in advance directly with the company at 1-800-977-2605.
Reservations can also be made through their website at www.speedishuttle.com
or email kona@speedishuttle.com.
Arrangement for pickup can also be made upon arrival by calling (808) 329-5433.
Town shuttle service: The easiest way to get to
Kailua-Kona town center from the hotel is via the Alii Shuttle service.
Prices start at $2 each way, $5 day pass and $20 for a weekly pass. This
is a less expensive and better alternative than taxi or car rental.
