P&A Postdoc Kevin Croker gives extended interview on This Week in Science

Kevin Croker Dr. Kevin Croker, postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, was recently interviewed by This Week In Science about his team’s work on GEneric Objects of Dark Energy (GEODEs). GEODEs are very similar to Black Holes, except that they contain Dark Energy and have no “one way” layers or singularities.

This 1.5 hour interview for general audiences describes the content of a series of 3 GEODE papers published over the past year in the flagship Astrophysical Journal. Dr. Croker informally leads Team GEODE, an interdisciplinary
collaboration between members of the Departments of Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, and the Institute for Astronomy. The team investigates the theoretical foundations and observational consequences of GEODEs, and includes published contributions from Physics and Astronomy faculty Duncan Farrah and Kurtis Nishimura, and Physics and Astronomy Graduate Student Jack Runburg.
