Have returned to UH from a spate in Silicon valley and am quite happy
to be back where I belong. (11APR02)

(22AUG00) I have just submitted a second version of the XTEST2 chip to
HP for fab, see below for more details. Now the focus is on the design of a
readout chip for a Linear Collider pair monitor, see above for details.
In my spare time, I have been
working on other projects such as the
BES MDCIII upgrade.

1999 was a tremendously busy year, with the commissioning and operation
of both the
BEAST
and then Belle
experiments. Having succeeded with those endeavors,
we are working to improve the current Belle Silicon Vertex Detector
SVD,
and to build a pixel-detector upgrade.

Since returning to the Physics
Department at the
University of Hawaii , I have been heavily involved in the
Belle experiment. To extend the physics possibilities of this B-Factory
detector, I am working on a
pixel
vertexing upgrade program. Such a detector will allow Belle to
perform direct secondary/tertiary vertex
reconstruction to enhance exclusive charm physics and to surpress
continuum background.
