Low-Mass Dark Matter

by Prof. Jason Kumar (Dept. of Physics &Astronomy, UH Manoa)

Description
Recent data from several experiments have created a fascinating yet confusing picture regarding the possibility of low-mass (5-20 GeV) dark matter. We will review the experimental situation, including an overview of the uncertainties in the data and their interpretation. We will then describe some theoretical models which can help explain this data. Finally, we will describe some current and upcoming experiments which can shed further light on low-mass dark matter, with a focus on those experiments with UH involvement.
