Description
The science motivations and hardware designs for a new extremely-high energy astrophysical neutrino detector being built at the South Pole will be discussed. The ARA experiment builds on radio pulse measurement techniques of the ANITA balloon experiment and in-ice detectors at Pole from the IceCube experiment. Test hardware was deployed last year, and a full station is currently being tested (upstairs in the physics building at UH) for deployment this year.
